Fr. Eugene L. Condon

Indicted in 7/1996, charged with the sexual abuse of minor in the 1970s. Resigned immediately after the Diocese learned of the charges and allowed “early retirement” without privileges. Ordered not to be alone with minors. Police also found child pornography in his possession. In 4/1998 he was sentenced to 5 years probation for committing lewd acts with boys in the 1970s. Arrested again in 1/2006 on similar charges. Retired in 2006. Charges dropped in 2/2009 because the victim’s extensive legal, mental and sobriety issues kept him from testifying. Condon died 5/24/2014. Buried 05/28/2014. Included on the Diocese’s 3/29/2019 list of credibly accused.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
