Following a court order, on 12/16/2013 Bishop Quinn released a list of 13 names of priests who had credible allegations against them of the sexual abuse of minors. Cook’s inclusion on this list is the first public notice that he had been accused of abuse. Further information was released by the Diocese 6/23/2014, noting that a complaint was received in 10/1997 that Cook sexually abused a girl, and that the complainant withdrew the allegation approximately four days later. Cook retired 7/1/1998 and died 11/26/2004.
