Worked in Ethiopia, GA, OH, NJ, Vietnam, MD, Puerto Rico and PA. Per the PA Attorney General’s 3/1/2016 report, Crouse sodomized a 14-year-old boy in the late 1960s while assigned to his order’s monastery (Sons of the Sacred Heart, or “Verona Fathers”) in Montclair, NJ. His victim reported the abuse to Altoona’s Bishop Adamec in 2002. (Crouse was assigned to the Altoona-Johnstown diocese at the time in question.) The man said a “Fr Ben” also molested him, and both priests gave him alcohol. Crouse admitted to an “inappropriate relationship.” He went on medical retirement 2002 and died 07/11/2009.
