Fr. John S. Doyle
Accused in lawsuits filed in 2019 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing three children. One claims abuse of a 10-year-old in 1967 and the other claims abuse 1970-72 of a child starting when they were age 7. The abuse allegedly occurred while Doyle was pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Orchard Park. Doyle died in 1977. A woman said she told the diocese in 2018 that Doyle sexually abused her as a fifth-grader in the 1960s at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Doyle’s name was added to the diocese’s list of credibly accused.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
