Fr. Paolo Bagattini
From Italy. Ordained for the Stigmatine Order in 1971. Did missionary work in France, Brazil, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, India, Thailand, and the Philippines. Assigned in 2016 to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in the Diocese of Springfield, MA. Suspended from ministry 7/22/2026 due to a report of improper behavior with a minor. The behavior allegedly started in 2022, when the boy was 15 and Bagattini was assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Bagattini’s accuser said he was also sexually abused by Fr. Robert White, beginning after he turned 18. He said both priests “took him under their wings” in 2020 after his mother died. White was a former member of the Diocesan Review Board. Bagattini left for Italy after his removal, telling his parishioners he was there for health reasons and that the order’s Father General advised him to stay there.
