Fr. John M. Furdek
Priest of the Joliet Diocese. Arrested in WI in 2/2000 on charges of using the internet to set up a meeting with a 14-year-old boy, who was actually an undercover police officer. Privileges removed. Pleaded guilty in WI in 3/2003. Sentenced to 15 years in prison on attempted sexual assault. Served three years. Included on the diocese’s list of credibly accused in 4/2006. Paroled in 5/2006. Forced in 2/2007 to move from a condo because a daycare was on the first floor and a school was next door. On Sex Offender Registry. Permanently removed from ministry. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report.
