Fr. James G. Graham

Ordained: 1966
Status: Accused

Died: 03/6/2015
Diocese: Diocese of Pittsburgh PA

In 4/2012, the Diocese received an allegation of abuse of a 9-year-old boy by Graham in late the 1960s. The accusation was made by the female partner of the alleged victim, who had recently died of a drug overdose. Graham, who had been scheduled to retire on 4/30/2012, was immediately removed from his assignment at St. Lawrence O’Toole, and the Diocese investigated. The sister of another alleged victim told the Diocesan Review Board in 2012 that Graham molested her brother, who died at age 15 in 2002. Another man told the diocese in 2012 that when he was age 16, Graham sexually abused him. All allegations were deemed credible and Graham was permanently removed from ministry. He died in 2015. Named in 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the Diocese’s list of credibly accused.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
