One of several religious assigned to Santa Barbara who were named as abusers in a civil suit filed 8/08, which alleged that the Franciscans constituted “an ongoing public nuisance as a result of their practice of shuttling pedophile priests among communities without warning members of the public that a sexual predator might be in their midst.” Abuse allegedly took place in 1970s, 1990s-2000s. (See information in two petitions filed fall 2009.) On the Santa Barbara Province Franciscan’s list 5/31/19. It notes an allegation in 2006, but the “purported victim” was not forthcoming with information despite numerous attempts. Credibility and details “unconfirmned.”
