Fr. Erasto Guzman-Chavez
Visiting priest from the Diocese of Huajuapan de Leon, Oaxaca, Mexico. Began working in Portland in 1993. Accused in 5/1997 of molesting several pre-teen and teenage girls. Despite knowing of the allegations, the Archdiocese wrote to the Immigration Service asking that he be granted permanent residence status. Guzman-Chavez was restricted from contact with women but was allowed to continue his Spanish-language ministry.
