Fr. John E. Harris
Disciplined in 1999 for launching a sexually explicit website. Placed on leave in 2003 after allegations of nude swimming and boating with youths 20 years prior. Subject of several complaints filed against the diocese. Reportedly moved to Canada and was defrocked in 2015. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/2023 of sexually abusing a boy, beginning when the boy was age 14, in the mid-1980s. The boy lived at the Rumford Boys’ Home, across the street from Harris’ parish.
