Fr. Bertrand W. Horvath
Sued in 2002. Accused of the sexual abuse of an altar boy at Mission Viejo in the early 1970s, before the Diocese of Orange was formed. Horvath’s order sued the Los Angeles Archdiocese to force them to share responsibility. He left the archdiocese in 1974, then worked in several dioceses, including Amarillo, for many years. Placed on leave and retired in 2001 after the Diocese of Orange notified the Diocese of Amarillo of the abuse. Died in 2012. On the Las Vegas diocese’s list 4/12/2019.
