Fr. Fred D. Ingalls

Charged in 2/2004 with receiving child pornography and storing it on a computer in the parish rectory. Placed on leave. Per the charges, Ingalls said he paid for access to child porn sites 13 times 7/2002-6/2003. Pleaded guilty in 6/2004 to possession of 144 pornographic images. Sentenced in 2005 to 3 years and 1 month in federal prison. Released in 12/2007. Included on the Diocese’s 3/20/18 list of credibly accused. Accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act in 8/2019 of the sexual abuse of a child, ages 10-11,in 1982-1983, while assigned to St. Joseph’s School in Niagara Falls. Case sent to Vatican. Removed from the diocesan payroll 5/1/2020 as part of a bankruptcy agreement. Accused in another CVA lawsuit, filed in 9/2019, of abusing a child, ages 7-10, in 1976-1979 at St. Joseph’s. The suit also alleges abuse at the parish by Fr. Joseph A. Schuster. Per the Diocese’s list in 9/2025, Ingalls was sentenced to a life of prayer and penance.
