Extern priest from Sri Lanka working in Archdiocese of Los Angeles beginning in 1987. Indicted in 1991 for alleged abuse in 1990. Fled to Sri Lanka in 1990 or 1991 before police could arrest him. Still a fugitive as of 2012. The archdiocese’s list in 12/21 shows Jayawardene to be deceased.
