Named publicly as credibly accused by the Columbans’ U.S. Province on its list in 2/2022. Multiple allegations are noted, of abuse occurring in the 1980s. The list does not provide information as to where the abuse occurred. Keaney was assigned to the Philippines in 1967 where he remained, except for vacations back in the U.S., until 1989. He returned to his home town of Winchester, MA. (We are placing him in the Omaha archdiocese, where the Columban Fathers’ foreign missions office was headquartered.) Keaney died in 2018 in Winchester, MA. Included in the 3/4/2026 RI Attorney General’s Report. Per the report, Kearney was assigned in the Diocese Providence 1998-2003.
