Fr. Leonard Paul Kmak
Left the priesthood to marry in 8/1968. Laicized in 1/1969. Died in 7/2002. Accused of having abused in 1960-1963. Allegations first became public when a claim was included in a 10/2005 settlement by the Archdiocese involving 24 plaintiffs and 14 priests. Included on the Archdiocese’s 3/2006 list of those with substantiated allegations. The Archdiocese also settled at least one claim in a 5/2007 $6.65M settlement with 14 people alleging abuse by 12 priests. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report.
