Plaintiffs say they met Liles at a Boy Scouts camp. He would shower with them and hug and kiss them. They often stayed overnight at the rectory, sleeping in the same bed as Liles. Liles also worked in New Orleans 1979-1982. Case dismissed on statute of limitations. Appealed to MN Court of Appeals which upheld the dismissal in 8/2000. Included on the St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese’s list 12/5/2013. Per the Dominicans St. Albert the Great Province list 4/21/2022, allegations of abuse in MN were first received in 1993. It also has an erroneous ordination date of 1971. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report, which notes a 2006 death date. However, a relative of Liles informed BishopAccountability.org in 8/2020 that Liles was alive and living in TX.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
