From Colombia. Sent from Rome, Italy to St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Los Angeles in 2001. Arrested in 2004 for abuse of a minor. Other victims found. Convicted in 2005. Conviction/prison sentence overturned 4/06 by appeals court. In 1/08 the CA Supreme Court overturned the appeals court decision and returned case to the court which upheld conviction 4/08. CA Supreme Court refused to hear appeal. Suit filed by 20-year-old man in 5/09. Lopez was deported, per CA Sex Offender Registry. News reports 6/11 say he was convicted in Rome in 2000. The Los Angeles list of accused in 12/18 shows Lopez to have been laicized.
