The diocese did not tell him that Mason had been found guilty in 1981 of sexually assaulting a student and had been placed on probation for 18 months. Absent on sick leave 1987-1992 per the Catholic Directory; “On duty outside the diocese” 1993-2003. Believed to be drug abuse counselor in WI. Laicized 1/19/04. Included on the diocese’s list 1/18/20, with multiple substantiated allegations.
