One of several religious assigned to Santa Barbara who were named as abusers in a civil suit filed in 8/2008 which alleged that the Franciscans constituted “an ongoing public nuisance as a result of their practice of shuttling pedophile priests among communities without warning members of the public that a sexual predator might be in their midst.” Abuse allegedly took place in the 1960s-1970s. Included on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list 5/31/2019, which notes “The Province has received no allegation involving a minor.”
