Fr. Francis E. McGlynn

Retired in 1992. Privileges removed 2002. Accused in a 2003 lawsuit of sexually abusing a St. Mary’s Parish altar boy in 1971 and 1974. Trial was set for 10/2007 but the case settled 9/27/2007 for $225K. Two women also filed separate suits in 2003 and 2004. The 2003 suit was dismissed in 12/2004 due to the statute of limitations. At least one claim settled in an 8/2008 $10M settlement involving 12 priests. A new suit filed by a woman 10/2011 claimed abuse in 1963-1964. McGlynn died in 5/2012. Included on the Diocese’s 9/5/2019 list of accused clergy, with multiple substantiated allegations.
