Fr. Titian Athos Miani
Arrested in 2003, charged with abusing two girls. Charges dropped in 2003 due to CA Supreme Court ruling. Per 2004 archdiocesan report, there were four accusers of abuse occurring 1957-67. At least one civil suit filed. Left archdiocese in 1967 for San Francisco, then Stockton. Incardinated into Stockton diocese in 9/74. Also worked in the Oakland diocese. Three siblings filed suit in 1/08 against Salesians alleging 1960s abuse. Personnel file indicates he also abused in Brazil, Italy and Canada. Included in Salesians’ $19.5M settlement with 17 in 5/08. Named in 6/10 suit. Included on list of claimed abusers attached to Stockton diocese’s 5/9/14 filing in bankruptcy court.
