Br. Wendell Mohs

First profession in 1974. Former recruiter for Crosiers. Left Order 11/1/82. Dispensed from vows 9/17/87. A 4/06 suit alleged abuse by Mohs of a youth 1980-83. A second suit was filed in 5/06. The 4/06 plaintiff settled in 2/09 for $1.2M (part of larger $1.7M settlement by 9 accusers against Crosier Order and several priests). Mohs claimed that he himself was abused by at least one member of the Order in 1964. Per Crosiers list in 3/14, Mohs was not a member of the order at the time of the allegation; this conflicts with previous information. Named in a 7/15 lawsuit.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
