Fr. Ralph W. Pairon
First named publicly as accused on the Santa Fe archdiocese’s list 9/12/2017. From Belgium. Was priest of Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (C.I.C.M.); sent by Order to the U.S. in 1954. Incardinated in the Santa Fe archdiocese. Transferred to San Antonio TX archdiocese in 1968, where he taught high school for 22 years. Died 10/5/2014. Accused in a lawsuit filed 11/2018 of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl at St. Thomas in Abuquiu, beginning in 1969. Per a 5/2019 proof of claim in the Santa Fe archdiocese’s bankruptcy, evidently filed by the 11/2018 lawsuit plaintiff, the girl was Pairon’s altar server. The abuse allegedly took place in Pairon’s car during trips to and from mission churches, over several years.
