Fr. Donald Raymond Pousson

Ordained: 1966
Status: Accused

Died: 07/7/2013
Diocese: Diocese of Lafayette LA

In 6/2002 the bishop said that an investigation of Pousson was pending but that no action had been taken because a review committee had not yet been formed. Pousson was accused of molesting a boy about 10 years prior. Pousson denied the allegation. He said that he had been treated several times for “alcohol but never sex abuse.” The diocese reportedly learned of the alleged molestation in the mid-1990s but in 2002 the bishop denied prior knowledge. Placed on administrative leave in 1994 and spent several months in in-patient treatment in St. Louis. Died 7/07/2013.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
