Fr. George St. Jean
The NH Audit shows two reports of same abuse. In 1/2004 St. Jean was said not to have been in Manchester diocesan ministry, but the Directory shows him as assigned to a Colebrook NH shrine in 1960. St. Jean died in 9/1982. A new lawsuit was filed in 5/2010 and another in 7/21/2010. The plaintiff in the 5/2010 suit was murdered 9/9/2011. Both suits settled in 9/2012. Included on the Norwich diocese’s list 2/22/2019, which notes that St. Jean left the diocese in 1962.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
