Fr. Randolph Ernest Thompson
Member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools prior to joining the Franciscans in 1942. Died 12/3/1991. Allegation of sexual abuse made public in 8/2019. Archdiocese referred the allegation to the Butler County prosecutor’s office in the summer of 2018. The Franciscan Province of St. John the Baptist acknowledged receiving a complaint about Thompson in 1967 and said that he was removed from ministry. Included on their list. Added to the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ list in 2020, where he was assigned at some point. Included in 2/2022 on the Cincinnati Archdiocese’s list of those against whom there are substantiated allegations.
