Fr. William F.J. White

Accused by 11 men of abuse as teenagers 1961-1993. Suspended in 1993. The Diocese had complaints in 1979. There were more complaints in 1987 when a family reported that White tried to molest two brothers the night of their father’s wake. White died in 2016. His name was included on the Diocese’s 3/20/2018 list of credibly accused. A lawsuit filed in 8/2019 claims White raped two brothers and forced the boys to rape each other. The abuse allegedly began in 1982, when the boys were under age 11, and went on for almost 10 years. White allegedly plied the boys with alcohol and drugs and paid them to keep quiet. The family attended Annunciation parish in Black Rock. By 8/2021 White was named in lawsuits by 15 plaintiffs filed under the NY Child Victims Act.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
