Allegations made public in 1/10. Placed on leave. Per news reports, Wiecek’s privileges were removed after accused of having “overzealously spanked” a boy in the 1970s while working in the Santa Rosa diocese, and he attempted to pick up a gay man about 30 years prior. Had been in Monterey for 20 years. Order recalled him to Ohio immediately. On Santa Rosa diocese’s list 1/12/19.
