PRIMEAUX, David, 62, of Petersburg, died Thursday, December 28, 2012. He was a native of Lafayette, La., born the son of Dr. Walter J. and Natalie Ardoin Primeaux Jr. David was an associate professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, a community activist who was well known in historic preservation circles and has been a longtime member of Historic Petersburg Foundation serving as both Chairman and Trustee. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Alexandria Meek. He is also survived by his loving wife, Nancy Stanton Primeaux; a brother, Lawrence Primeaux and wife, Lisa; six sisters, Claire Primeaux, Marlene Primeaux Henderson, Marie Primeaux Melancon and husband Willis, Joan Primeaux and husband, Craig, and Michelle Primeaux Lazarus and husband, Steve; a father-in-law William Stanton; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Stanton and Vonnie Stanton; and a brother-in-law, William Stanton Jr. and his wife, Nancy. A Celebration of David's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 842 W. Washington St, Petersburg, Va. The family requests no flowers be sent.
