Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said Thursday that a Greek Orthodox priest is expected to enter a guilty plea in court Thursday afternoon.

Patrick Nicholas Hughes, 56, was arrested last week on one count of attempted rape and one count of attempted unlawful conduct with a minor. Authorities said Hughes tried to arrange a meeting to have sex with two boys, ages 9 and 14.

O’Brien said in his Thursday afternoon court appearance, Hughes will waive his right to indictment and enter a guilty plea to the Bill of Information.

Last week, Sheriff Zach Scott said that Hughes used a website to try and arrange the meeting, but he was actually exchanging messages with detectives.
