Fr. Ralph P. Federico
Named in a lawsuit filed in 8/19 under the NY Child Victims Act. Two more lawsuits, filed in 7/20, claim Federico sexually abused boys while assigned to St. John’s in Jamestown. Also accused of abusing boys while pastor of Our Lady of Pompeii in Depew. Per two of the suits, Federico’s victims were abused at age 10, one in around 1976, the other around 1974. Federico was known for speaking out against pornography and obscenity in literature. He died 10/19/07. In 8/21 the Diocese announced that the allegations against Federico had been substantiated by its Review Board. (Name misspelled Frederico in some news accounts.) Added to the diocese’s list of credibly accused.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
