Fr. Francis John Ford
Ordained for the Franciscans. Left the order and was incardinated into the Diocese of Santa Rosa in 1/71. Accused in 2002 suit against the Portland archdiocese and Franciscans of abuse of a boy for two years, beginning when the boy was age 12 in 1961. Ford apparently moved back and forth between Portland archdiocese and positions in CA. Died 10/21/84. Suit settled in 2003 or 2004. He signed documents John E. Ford when chaplain at Napa State Hospital 1/73 – 3/77. On Santa Rosa diocese’s list 1/12/19. It notes abuse in the diocese in 1974 and that he went on leave 1/1/79. On Oakland diocese’s list in 2019. On Santa Barbara Province Franciscans’ list 5/31/19. Accused in one or more lawsuits between 2019-2022.
