Ordained for the Franciscans. Left the order and was incardinated into the Diocese of Santa Rosa in 1/1971, where he was head of Catholic Social Services. Accused in a 2002 lawsuit against the Portland archdiocese and Franciscans of abuse of a boy for two years, beginning when the boy was age 12 in 1961. Ford apparently moved back and forth between the Portland archdiocese and positions in CA. Died 10/21/1984. Suit settled in 2003 or 2004. He signed documents John E. Ford when chaplain at Napa State Hospital 1/1973 – 3/1977. Included on the Santa Rosa diocese’s list 1/12/2019. It notes abuse in the diocese in 1974 and that he went on leave 1/1/1979. On Oakland diocese’s list in 2019. On Santa Barbara Province Franciscans’ list 5/31/2019. Accused in one or more lawsuits between 2019-2022.
