Fr. Dennis A. Fronczak
Diocese: Diocese of Buffalo NY
Fronczyk aka Franczak aka Fronczak. Our Lady of Pompeii in Lancaster pastor when placed on leave in 10/15 for unspecified reasons. Denied misconduct. After a 6/18 publicity, a woman told the Buffalo News that Fronczak fondled her repeatedly when she was ages 9-12 in the 1990s, at St. Stephen’s on Grand Island. Also per news in 6/18, a couple told the diocese in 2003 that Fronczak showed inappropriate behavior toward their 3-year-old daughter. They said the diocese said they would look into it, but heard nothing more. Diocese said in 6/18 the allegations were substantiated. To remain on leave pending Vatican decision. Accused in a lawsuit 8/19 of abuse of a child, age 10-11, in 1986-88 while assigned to a Lockport parish. Removed from diocesan payroll 5/1/20 as part of a bankruptcy agreement.
Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
