Fr. James P. Hayes
Monsignor. First revealed on the diocesan list 3/20/2018 as removed, retired, or having left ministry after allegations of the sexual abuse of a minor. (First erroneously id’d as James F. Hayes.) Died 11/30/1988. In 8/2019 a 49-year-old woman filed suit under the Child Victims Act, claiming Hayes starting molesting her at All Saints in Riverside when she was age 7 or 8, and continuing through her eighth grade year. Another woman claimed he sexually abused her for two years, beginning when she was 13 in 1976. By 8/2021 there were 13 lawsuits filed under the NY Child Victims Act with allegations against Hayes.
