Fr. David E. Johnson
Accused of abuse of two minors 1978-1979 at St. Anthony Seminary and another location, per archdiocesan report. Civil suit filed in 2003. Settled in 8/2006. Three new suits filed in Fall 2009 alleged that Johnson and Philip Wolfe abused three others when they were students at St. Anthony’s beginning in 1979. By 8/2021 five civil suits had been filed, all claiming abuse in the years 1978-1982. Personnel file released in 5/2012. Laicized in 2/2001. Name included on the Seattle archdiocese’s list 1/15/2016. Worked at St. George in Seattle 1986-1988. On the Franciscans’ Santa Barbara Province list 5/31/2019. It notes reports 1993, 2006, 2007 and 2009 of abuse of minors 1978-1982, and that he left the order 2001. On Oakland diocese’s list in 2019. Included in 8/2021 on the Fresno diocese’s list of credibly accused. Possibly living in Hurricane, UT.
