From Poland. Ordained for the Greenburg diocese. Placed on leave in 5/19 pending investigation by law enforcement of an allegation that he sexually abused a minor fifteen years prior. Pastor of St. Joseph in Everson and St. John the Baptist in Scottdale at the time of his suspension. Arrested in 8/20, charged with indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with an altar boy for three years, beginning in 2004 when the boy was age 11. The abuse occurred at St. Cyril and Methodius Church in Fairchance. Kawecki pleaded no contest on 10/25/21. Required to register as a sex offender for ten years. To be sentenced in early 2022.
