Fr. Lee D. Krautkremer
In 2002 a man filed suit alleging abuse by Krautkremer at age 10 in 1977, and that the Archdiocese had gone back on its 1983 verbal agreement that the priest would be placed where he could not abuse children. Krautkremer was assigned to at least two more parishes. In 1989 he was assigned as a hospital chaplain, where he remained until he was permanently removed in 2002. The Archdiocese paid $20K of Krautkremer’s personal loans in 2003. Civil suit dismissed on SOL in 2004; plaintiff appealed. Laicized in 2006. Died 6/15/17.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
