Fr. Richard S. Liston
Accused of raping a teenager in Norwalk in 1978. Quietly transferred by the Diocese at least twice. Toledo police investigation in 1985 into Liston’s financial interest in two gay bars uncovered the allegation from his past. Sent to a treatment center in VA; he walked away from the center. Removed from public ministry in 1989. Died in 1/1994. Name added to the Diocese’s list of credibly accused in 4/2020.
