Fr. Robert A. Marcantonio
Bishop Reilly knew in 1970 that Marcantonio had molested several 12- to 14-year-old boys. Sent to Ames, IA in 1970 for treatment. Allowed ministry there in the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Allegedly abused in IA. Moved to Fall River, MA and Providence dioceses 1975. Removed from ministry 8/16/89. Civil suit filed 1991 in IA; settled by 1994. Six suits filed in 1993 and one in 1994 in RI. Some claims included in 9/02 settlement with the Providence diocese. Died 10/20/99. One claim settled 8/08 as part of $1.326M settlement by the Providence diocese. Cited in 11/08 RICO suit. On the Providence diocese’s list 7/1/19
