Fr. Daniel B. Mulvihill

Ordained: 1953
Status: Sued

Died: 12/16/2006
Diocese: Diocese of Wichita KS

From Ireland. Ordained for the Diocese of Wichita. Named in a 1996 civil suit filed by four brothers. The men said that they were abused at St. Joseph’s Children Home in KS and that they believed that another priest (Mulvihill) had molested their sister and that she had borne the priest’s child. They say they found her diary after her death with a picture of her and the priest with a baby boy. The Diocese investigated and said that Mulvihill denied that he was the father of the child, and that the diary was the dreaming of a lonely young woman about a kid and handsome priest. Mulvihill died 12/16/2006.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
