Fr. William John O’Brien
Removed from public ministry in 6/2005. Included on the Archdiocese’s list of accused 3/20/2006. Sued in 4/2006 by two alleged victims. Laicized in 7/2006. The Archdiocese settled at least one claim in a 5/2007 $6.65M settlement with 14 people alleging abuse by 12 priests. Included on the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report, which notes four “reported survivors,” of abuse in Chicago 1975-1981 and in 1983.
