Fr. Alan J. Placa
Placa, an attorney and former vice chancellor of the Rockville Centre Diocese, was for years the diocese’s chief contact with victims. Resigned in 2002 after police investigated allegations. Accused of sexually abusing boys in the 1970s at St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale. Identified as Priest F in the 2002 report of the Grand Jury investigation of the Rockville Centre Diocese. Close friends with former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani; worked at Giuliani’s law firm. Fully restored to active (retired) status in 12/2009 after a review by the Vatican found him to be not guilty of the allegation of sexual abuse of a minor. Named in lawsuits filed in 8/2019 under the NY Child Victims Act by two former St. Pius X students.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
