Fr. Salvatore A. Rodino
“Sam.” Parish priest. Faculty member at several high schools before and after ordination. Pastor of St. Jude’s in Wynantskill when placed on leave in 10/2009 after the Diocesan Review Board said there were “reasonable grounds” to believe that Rodino sexually abused a teenager in the early 1980s, while assigned to Blessed Sacrament in Albany. Rodino denied the allegations. No civil or criminal prosecution due to the statute of limitations. The Diocese announced on 10/28/2009 that there was a similar allegation in the 1990s, but not enough evidence to remove him. Included on the Diocese’s list in 11/2015 which notes that the case was on appeal in Rome.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
