Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 1977. Assigned in Coventry and Hope Valley. On Leave of Absence 1983-1985. Arrested at a motel in MA in 7/2001 after arranging over the internet to meet someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was instead an undercover MA State Trooper. Sadowski wanted sex and to take pornographic photos of the girl. He also sent nude photos of himself. The Diocese immediately placed him on leave. RI State Police searched Sadowski’s home the same month, after which he was arrested for possession of child pornography. In 1/2002 he pleaded guilty to the MA charges and was sentenced to two years in prison and five years’ probation. Arrested in RI in 12/2009, again for internet solicitation and child pornography. In 5/2002 he pleaded no contest to the RI charges and was sentenced to five years in prison, with two years to serve concurrently with the MA sentence and three of the years suspended. Convicted in 7/2010 in VA. Sentenced to 17 years in prison. Case referred to the Vatican. Included on the Diocese’s list 7/1/2019. Released from prison in 3/2022 and returned from VA to RI. Pleaded no contest again in 9/2022 in MA for child pornography possession. Received a five-year sentence, suspended with probation. Sadowski was living in 6/2025 in Warwick, RI. Included in the 3/4/2026 RI Attorney General’s Report.
