Fr. James C. Williams

Williams was suspended from ministry in 5/2016 by the Marianists due to a credible allegation in 2011 that he sexually abused a male Chaminade High School student. He was a faculty member and administrator at Chaminade 1991-2012, and President for 12 years before resigning in 2011. He denied the abuse. The Order notified the Diocese. Law enforcement was notified in 2/2015. There was no prosecution due to the statute of limitations. Reportedly, the case was sent to the Vatican and Williams was defrocked. Per his LinkedIn account in 9/2018, Williams was in the Greater NYC Area, having been a PhD student at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome 8/2012-7/2016. Accused in a lawsuit in 8/2019 of abuse of a Chaminade student, ages 14-16, 1990-1993. Williams worked for three years as an operations manager for a cleaning service in NYC until he was laid off in 10/2023. He died in 12/2023, at age 54.
