Received treatment for psychological problems in the 1960s. Accused of the sexual abuse of as many as four youths 1970-1978. The Abbey learned of allegations in 1987. Civil suits were filed in 1990, 1994, and an unknown date. At least two suits settled in 2002. Lived under restrictions at St. John’s Abbey until his death 2/21/2004 at age 95. Name on 12/9/2013 list of monks likely to have offended against minors released by the Abbey. Also on the St. Paul and Minneapolis archdiocese’s list and St. Cloud list. Dahlheimer’s St. Paul and Minneapolis personnel file was released 5/19/2014. Worked in the Owensboro KY diocese in 1964.
