Received treatment for psychological problems in the 1960s. Accused of abuse of as many as four youths 1970-78. Abbey learned of allegations in 1987. Civil suits filed 1990, 1994, and an unknown date. At least two suits settled in 2002. Lived under restrictions at St. John’s Abbey until his death 2/21/04 at age 95. Name on 12/9/13 list of monks likely to have offended against minors released by Abbey. Also on St. Paul list and St. Cloud list. St. Paul personnel file released 5/19/14. Worked in Owensboro KY diocese in 1964.
