Fr. George Michael Miller
Removed from active ministry in 1997. Accused of abuse of a boy in the 1970s and 1980s. Arrested in 2002; charges dropped 2003 due to US Supreme Court ruling. Six accusers, per the Archdiocese. Named by two in a 10/2003 civil suit. Some claims settled in a 12/2006 $60M settlement involving 22 priests. In 7/2007, four claims settled for $660M involving 508 priests. Laicized in 5/2005. Arrested 7/23/2007 for molesting a boy 1988-1991. Pleaded guilty in 12/2008. Admitted abuse of three more. Sentenced to three years in 1/2009. Personnel file released in 1/2013. Claims settled 2/18/2014 as part of a $13M claim. May have died in 6/2018. Named in a 10/2018 suit. Per the Archdiocese’s list in 12/2021, Miller is deceased.
