Removed in 2003. Accused of sexually abusing two teen boys and a boy age 10-11. Denied allegations. After publicity in 3/2018 a news outlet reported hearing from “several more” accusers. One said when he was age 15 in 1975 Becker got him drunk then abused him, including rape, in a North Java cabin. Included on 3/20/2018 diocesan list. A third man, age 43, stated publicly 6/1/2018 that he was sexually abused at age 13 by Becker when the priest was pastor of SS Peter and Paul in Hamburg. At least one alleged victim reportedly died by suicide. Lawsuit 8/2019 claims abuse of 15-year-old boy in 1974 at Becker’s cabin. Plaintiff told the diocese in 9/2007; diocese paying for counseling and meds since 2012. A 9/2019 lawsuit claimed Becker abuse a boy, age 11, in 1971. Case sent to the Vatican. Removed from diocesan payroll 5/1/2020 in bankruptcy agreement. By 8/2021 thirty men had claimed abuse as boys by Becker under the NY Child Victims Act. Lived in Fort Meyers, FL 2013 until his death 2/15/2022.
