Fr. George Neville Rucker
Known to have sexually abused little girls, and possibly some boys, from just after ordination. Bishop Manning knew in at least the early 1960s. First investigated by police in 1967. First civil suit filed in 1994. Arrested in 2002 on charges involving 12 girls. Criminal charges dropped in 2003 due to Supreme Court ruling. Named as first on a list of of 10 most abusive priests in the Los Angeles archdiocese, with 38-41 known accusers. Some claims settled in a 12/2006 $60M settlement involving 22 priests. Other claims settled in a 7/2007 $660M settlement. Laicized 2/8/2008. Personnel file released 1/2013. Died 5/16/2014, age 93.
